PB Fitness was very honoured to be contacted by Rohan Mason who just competed in the World Masters games in Turin.

Travelling all the way from Australia to compete in Turin, Rohan decided to visit Cambridge for a week and get some recovery sessions in.

At 67 Rohan emphasised the importance of Olympic weightlifting particularly for the elderly as no other training system requires flexibility and strength around the joints in such a specific way as Olympic weightlifting does.

Having Started late myself Rohan encouraged me to pursue my dreams of competing in the master class (35 plus) proving its never too late to start. He amazed us all in the gym with his power and what appears effortless attempts at throwing 60kg above his head which was his recovery session training weight!

At the recent competition and at 67 years old he managed to Snatch 61kg and Clean and Jerk 74kg!
