Miami Pro Bikini Comp update.. 12 weeks to go

Soo New Year New start.. except I’ve now been training for this competition since June last year! I only have just over 12 weeks left until the big day and nerves are setting in. Have I done enough training, have I been strict enough? Only time will tell but these last 12 weeks will be the hardest I have ever worked!
I didn’t stay too strict to the clean eating over Christmas and enjoyed some chocolate and a few glasses of champagne but I didn’t go crazy. I still worked out and even took my dumbells, kettlebells and resistance bands to my grans 😉
My bikini has arrived and it’s lovely, even if it isn’t quite the colour I expected. No pics of it though as I want to keep it a surprise for the comp. Sounds like I’m talking about my wedding dress lol, although I wish I’d put this much effort into my training for our wedding.
I’ve been really struggling the last month or so which is why I haven’t updated the blog. My son is 18 months and currently going through a developmental spurt and is not sleeping well at night, in fact is hardly sleeping at all! He wakes every hour or two and it’s hard hard work. I know I need my sleep to help my body recover which stresses me even more but I’m doing everything I can to rest on the day on the days I’m not working. As tempting as it is to try and get things done while he has a nap in the day I have resorted to cuddling him and trying to rest.
I’ve just booked my next 2 coaching lessons with Audrey Kaipio which I’m really looking forward to as hopefully she can see the hard work I’ve been putting in! She is an amazing coach and no-one knows more on stage presence than Audrey, It helps that she is so lovely and motivating too 🙂
My training has stepped up and is full on hypertrohpy now with 2 circuits a week. I’m training 5 times a week and doing 2/3 muscle groups at a time. We are also joining Sweat Gym in Soham so I can have access to a few fixed weight machines as I have been using our gym in the garage which is amazing but is mainly free weights/ olympic weights.
Anyway enough rambling from me, I’m sleep deprived and need to go and practise my walk!
